Yes, Niranjana is my daughter. No doubt.
Today, she had the choice of watching Little Einsteins (again!). Instead, she said, "Big football!" I took that to mean she wanted to watch some Super Bowl preview - much to Melissa's chagrin.
On ESPN was some ice skating. Mel hoped Niranjana might be interested in the young women in the pretty dresses. Not a chance: "Big football!" she wailed.
On and off for the past 90 minutes, Niranjana has come downstairs and has danced in the middle of the living room, chanting, "Big football! Big football!" At one point, she chanted, "Go Seahawks!" Two years too late, sweetie.
We're just a few minutes from kickoff, and this little girl is perched in front of the TV, waiting for the game to start.
Yep. My daughter.

Figure skaters
Nothing against young women in pretty dresses because that is a draw, but I was hoping our daughter would enjoy watching the athletic yet graceful, ethnically diverse figure skaters over a bunch of former football players in suits speculating on a violent game that wasn't going to start for more than an hour. She liked ice skating the last time we watched (when Daddy wasn't home to interfere).
We'll see what N. thinks about baseball....
Super Bowl
Evidently we should have sent Leif to your house for some lessons. About 10 minutes before the game Leif came and told me "daddy wants to watch a movie". "Oh yeah," I said, "what does he want to watch?" (Fully knowing the game started shortly.) "Curious George," he told me. Umm yeah.
Then all through the Super Bowl Leif whined for a movie - anything but football. We finally gave up and put a movie on the computer.
Don't be fooled
None of the females in our house watched much of the football game. We went upstairs for Polar Express, as there was snow on the ground so the train made a special return visit. We went downstairs for Tom Petty and for the exciting last minute of the game.
