Andy's in love

My husband is in love with another girl ... but I'm not worried because I think I'm in love, too. But it's VERY obvious that Niranjana is going to be a Daddy's girl. "She's the sweetest girl I ever met," he says with a smitten look on his face.

Andy might even learn to enjoy clothes shopping (after mocking me for the past two months about the wardrobe Niranjana already has waiting for her with help from smart sale shopping, generous gifts at showers, hand-me-downs from friends and some contributions from Grandma). And Grandma (Jean O'Neil) will love this: Niranjana is known for pulling all of the clothes out of the shared wardrobe so she can choose her own outfit. She was smashing today in a fuschia-and-white sleeveless dress.

By the way, she likes pink - and we have plenty for her. And the sky blue we painted her room matches the blue in the orphanage. Two points for Mommy.

Other answers to some of the "Frequently Asked Questions" about Niranjana:

- At 3 1/2 years old, she seems to be about the same size as Leif and Cate (our 3-year-old friends). She weighed in Monday at 12.5 kilograms, or 27.5 pounds.

- Milk. She drinks it. And likes it. A lot. That and water. And I thought I heard tea/chai, but then she wasn't served any when the rest of us had some. Yogurt also is on the list of likes. No known food allergies, although she hasn't had peanut butter yet.

- Chocolate. Candy. Cookies. Biscuits (British cookies, orange creme today). Sweets in general appear to be doled out often enough that I suspect there's a reward system in play. I wonder how she'll like ice cream and Andy's famous (with Cate) hot cocoa for little girls?

- Breakfast is a lentil porridge and Indian pancakes. We don't really know what this is. Maybe we'll test it at the hotel buffet in the morning.

- We're told repeatedly that she is mischievious and likes to be the center of attention, but the little girl we met today was quiet and seemed to be checking us out. Maybe we'll see more of the "future diva" tomorrow.

Congratulations!

I am so happy for you guys!

Daddy's and little girls

You will remember how much grandfather O'Neil like little girls and the special times you had with your Dad. There is a bond there, but the mother always has a special place too (At least I'd like to think so!). Loved reading the comments aout pulling out the clothes and deciding what to wear, shel'll fit right in with the Hovee/Davis girls!

XOXOXO
Your Mom

How wonderful!
