Mommy, you rock!

One of our roles as parents is to teach our children well. I am pretty sure Crosby, Stills & Nash sang that.

Many weeks ago, I was holding Niranjana as we watched TV and whispered into her ear: "Say, 'Mommy, you rock!' " She got it right on the second try, then she said it really loud so Melissa could hear it.

Melissa found it hilarious and gave out a "Woo-hoo! I rock!"

This leads us to today as we were walking through Lowe's to get flowers, a fence board, some stain and a few other items for projects to fill a warm, sunny Sunday.

Niranjana was in the cart, which I was pushing, and Melissa was walking ahead of us. I leaned down and whispered to Niranjana, "Say, 'Mommy, you rock!' "

Niranjana repeated it, and Melissa started to chuckle. This spurred Niranjana to let loose another, "Mommy, you rock!" - this time at the top of her lungs. Melissa's face went red, as the store was kind of busy. So Niranjana belted it out again. And again. And again. I think she stopped at around a dozen times as we made our way to the checkout line.

No idea why Melissa won't let me teach Niranjana, "Huskies suck!"
