We are reasonably certain Niranjana never saw horses in India. Since coming home with us nearly eight months ago, she has loved seeing them on television and on farms and ranches along the highway.
A Kiwanis friend of mine has a small farm and invited us to come by Saturday so Niranjana could see the horses.
I was sure she would shy away from the horse once she got close to it. Perhaps surprisingly, she readily agreed to get on for a ride - more so than Mommy, who was a reluctant participant.
She did not like the idea of the horse - named Miss Lock 'N' Load - eating an apple from her hand. That will be an adventure for another day.
