Over the weekend, the three of us stopped at Yoke's Fresh Market in West Richland for groceries. It's a great store for a number of reasons, including the deli. We ordered our sandwiches and selected some drinks. I chose something called Bolthouse Farms Green Goodness.
It contained wheat grass, spirulina, spinach, apples, kiwis, mangos, bananas and dragon fruit. It was a sort of soupy green texture. Melissa scrunched up her nose and looked at me like I was nuts. My brother-in-law, Kevin, would be proud, as he was my introduction to wheat grass juice many years ago.
The stuff tasted rather, ur, healthy but with a fruity edge to it. I thought it was pretty good, though after several sips, I'd sort of wished I'd selected something else. But it was $4, and I wasn't about to get another I-told-you-so from Melissa. I offered Niranjana a sip, which she willingly took. She even traded me some of her fruit juice.
The bottle of juice was only about a third empty, so we took it home and put it in the fridge. Tonight, Melissa gave me a bad time about it still sitting there, so I filled up a glass and took it to my chair to sip on. After a couple of minutes, Niranjana came over, so I offered her a sip. Mmmm! She bogarted the whole thing!
Did I mention this is chock full of "14 powerful nutrients" and loaded with vitamins B6, B12, A and C? No sugary fruit snacks tonight for our little angel. Just wheat grass and spinach juice.
Am I good or what?

Try my new favorite salad dressing!
Kevin here--I haven't had wheatgrass in a long time. But for salads, try Tamari (organic soy sauce), Olive Oil, and Cayenne pepper (a light sprinkle). Mmmm, mmm, spicy!
green stuff
I make Vija smoothies with lettuce and spinach from the garden in them. They aren't my favorite, but she loves them. As soon as she sees me getting the blender out she gets ecstatic. Jeff really thinks they are gross, but he has yet to try them. We are rather addicted to the Bolthouse farms soy drink. It's sold at Costco. We haven't shared it with Vija because we are too selfish!
