Precociousness

Niranjana has a habit of saying phrases that seem beyond her years - or at least beyond her time with us.

Take, for instance, this exchange between mother and child just a couple of minutes ago:

"Niranjana, it's time to go. You need to go potty first."

"No thank you, Mommy. Don't worry about me. I'm just fine."

She says this in such a way that completely cracks us up to the point where she occasionally gets off the hook with whatever we want.

She has begun to use these exact phrases whenever she doesn't want to do something. Take a bath? "No thank you." Brush your teeth? "Don't worry about me." Go to bed? "I'm just fine."

They are awfully polite phrases. I'm certain she didn't learn them from me.

Brilliant!

Wow. This made me laugh out loud. I am going to use this the next time anyone asks me to do anything I don't want to do. It's so disarming! Thanks niece. -Christy
