Washingtonians are starting to get used to not talking on our cell phones while driving since a new law went into effect about six weeks ago. In India, I don't think such a law would apply, as this video shows:

Five per motorcycle
The show-off in that video was nothing compared to the truly terrifying city traffic, where cars and motorcycles merge into a chaotic mass. I clutched Niranjana on my lap in our air-conditioned mini van driven by a local (no child seat, great for bonding/attachment .... ). And I prayed for the families of five we would see riding a motorcycle. Dad drives, Mom sits behind him in her sari holding an infant, two young children hanging on for dear life.
