I have a story

Niranjana's vocabulary and imagination really took off last fall. The difference between August and October was especially notable. Credit goes to a combination of Montessori education and cinematic pop culture. And maybe a few stories from books, we hope.

Our girl regularly will start a new conversation in the car or at bedtime with "I have a story." Here is the one she told last night. I wrote it down as she told it and confirmed the details with her.

"There were three little wolves and a big bad pig. They saw a kangaroo who had bricks. They got the bricks and built a home. They were playing hockey, then they saw the big bad pig coming down the street so the wolves got inside the house. The big bad pig asked, can I come in? Not by the chinny chin chin, they said. Then the big bad pig smells the roses and turns nice in the end and he started to dance."

Love this!

What great imagination. I like the idea of a brick-distributing kangaroo. Extra supplies in the pouch. And a pig that dances after smelling roses!
