Spelling lessons

Niranjana has been working on spelling and letter recognition pretty hard in recent weeks and is making strong progress.

For example, when I take her to Dairy Queen for a Dilly Bar, she quickly picks up on the letters "D" and "Q" from a couple of blocks away.

So this morning as Melissa was driving her to school, Niranjana announced, "Mommy, I know how to spell 'ice cream'!"

"Really?" Melissa replied, somewhat incredulously.

"Yep. It's spelled 'DQ'!"

Adoption

Shawna,

We'd be happy to share more with you on the adoption process, or at least our experience with WACAP and India. Short answer is that we were very happy with WACAP and would go through them again.

Feel free to email me at andy (at) andyperdue (dot) com.

I just ran across your blog

I just ran across your blog and ended up reading a lot of it! I'm very interested in adopting from India at some point. I live in Bothell with my husband and 14 month old daughter. It's always been on my heart to adopt from India. A dear friend I grew up with was adopted from India along with her sister. Reading your blog has been so uplifting and inspiring! What a beautiful little girl Niranjana is with such a gracious spirit. You have been truly blessed. Good luck with continued success with your chemo, I was sad to read about your cancer. I believe you will beat it and be Niranjana's Daddy for many many years :)

So would you suggest WACAP for the adoption process? I have been researching agencies and have heard good things about them. This is something Im extremely interested in, but since my husband and I are both 27, we may need to wait a couple years.
Anyway it's very late and I need to get to bed. Again, great blog! Take care,
Shawna
