I was going to write this in India, but my hands suddenly were too full to type. I must confess, it feels good to be at a computer again - even if it's only for a few minutes.
We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our friends, families and co-workers, from the amazing quantity of shower gifts, donations to the orphanage, and post-trip practical things like a dozen hard-boiled eggs (Nancy), homebaked bread (Clark and Amy), Target run for a potty seat (Lorraine) and unlimited advice and food (Vanessa and Kent).
The Tri-City Herald crew gave us an amazing shower that included a Toys R Us gift card for outside toys. The little Winnie-the-Pooh riding toy in the "Niranjana at play" photos is among the items purchased. We haven't had time yet to tackle a playhouse.
Several of my Washington State University Tri-Cities co-workers surprised me on my last day in the office. Heather's fabric book (Mary Engelbreit's Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes) was a favorite in India and on the airplane. Jo's interactive telephone toy has been put to use often enough that Niranjana generally knew what to do when we held the phone up to her ear so she could hear her grandparents.
The list goes on and on. You know who you are, and thank-you notes are in progress. We are blessed by your generosity!
